Past meet-ups
In Short: We should be affable, but not adulatory. Be polite and considerate for everyone.
Consensus must reach before the execution of any community matters discussed at a meetup.
There are no moderators; participants are obliged to keep the order of the meetup.
Please use Cantonese, English or Mandarin Chinese.
Attacks or discriminations towards sexual concepts, sexual orientation, disabilities, racial or ethnic background, political affiliation or religion of other participants are not allowed.
Violence, threats, deliberate intimidation and personal attacks are not allowed.
Stalking, and person-to-person conversation in a scenario that someone asks to suspend should not be allowed.
Disturbance of normal discussions is not allowed.
Disclosure of personal data related to others (intercepted communications included) is strictly prohibited.
Wikimedians in Hong Kong has organized three types of meet-ups since 2005:
Quarterly meet-ups (2006-2011, 2017-). Revived in 2017 to provide a space for mutual assistance and discussions on community matter while not exhausting energy of the community.
Regular meet-ups (2006-2007, 2011-2016), held bi-weekly or monthly at a certain point, excepts 2006 when the location rotated between different districts.
Exposure trips (2006-2009), held on a non-regular basis, which aims to record a point of interest or current events
Bootcamp (2013, 2017-), to teach citizens the way to edit Wikipedia
Editathon (2018-), to enrich Wikimedia project's coverage of specific fields
