Description of the problem - (Marco Mitrovich)

[edit]

I have a problen on Bosnian Wikipedia with sysop AnToni because of my personal attitude (which I wrote on may user page only) that geographical region Southern Serbia will have some autonomy in contry Serbia and Im not ethnic Serb. In articles which I created on Bosnian Wikipedia in every sentence where I mentioned Southern Serbia sysop AnToni erase this words and replace them with forms Pčinja dIstrict (if municipality is in that district) but problem is by Constituttion of Serbia this country is divided on provinces, cities and municipalities, which a wrote to AnToni, but he does not care much about I write. Main problem is he erase this words (Southern Serbia) because I support there autonomy. He does not care if is right or not erase this words (example article Albanci u Srbiji or in article Babičko, there others articles with similar examples). He discriminate me because of my non Serb nationality and attitude, and from that reason he erase Southern Serbia. He even false acuse for separatism, but what is with articles, where I wrote in articles that Southern Serbia must be independent in future. This is funny what this sysop doing and abuse his admins rights locking articles when erase Southern Serbia, examples [2], [3] and erase template where i declare may nationality and attidude [4] - classic example of discrimination.

Previous attempts at a solution - (Marco Mitrovich)

[edit]

I tried to resolve this with him with conversation but he told me that there no about to disscus with me a on some way treat me like person level behind him, with attidude Im boss here and will be what I want. I wrote on Bosnia Wikipedia Community portal several times but noone answer me, example section Teritorijalna organizacija Srbije [5], [6], [7], [8]. I wrote on his talk page several times [9] but nothing, his attidude is that I small fish for him. Other sysops all time are silent. I think that Bosnian Wikipedia have a big problem, this is some peace of that.

Suggested solutions - (Marco Mitrovich)

[edit]

There is no any concrect reason that sysop AnToni treat me like this. I created articles about places and other about Suothern Serbia to improve Bosnian Wikipedia, they hvae almost nothing about articles of that region. My nationality and attidude is my personal matters, this is not his job on Wikipedia, he obviously abuse his admin rights. There notning wrong to describe that some place is part of Leskovac city in Southern Serbia, or Albanian community mostly lives in Southern Serbia. What sysop AnToni did is discrimination of me and that region.

Lt.

Previous attempts at a solution - (AnToni)

[edit]

As a Bosnian Wikipedia administrator, I'd also like to chip in here. It's worth noting that the Bosnian Wikipedia community, due to its small size, has not formally codified some of its policies. As a common practice among smaller Wikimedia projects, we generally adopt English Wikipedia's policies, adapting them as needed to streamline bureaucracy or maintain simplicity. That's why I'll be referencing English Wikipedia here.

a. User pages are "not personal homepages, and are not owned by the user", "you should avoid substantial content on your user page that is unrelated to Wikipedia", and "Wikipedia is not an appropriate place for: Propaganda, advocacy, or recruitment of any kind (commercial, political, religious, or otherwise)". With that being said, it is exceptionally rare for user pages do get edited by others or for userboxes to get deleted. The only precedent for such edits involves templates promoting irredentism, which is exactly why this specific template was removed.

b. Southern Serbia is "not an official subdivision of Serbia, nor are its borders clearly defined." Consequently, there's no rationale for including it in articles. For settlement articles, we adhere to the standard practice across Wikipedia projects of listing only official administrative units in ascending order.

As for the allegations of discrimination for "not being an ethnic Serb", these are utterly baseless and appear to be made in bad faith. I'm genuinely perplexed by this claim, given the diverse range of nationalities among the administrators, which makes such bias pretty much unthinkable. Marco has also called all other administrators "useful fools" and accused us of "playing dumb" in this dispute. These remarks, for which they received a talk page warning, combined with the unfounded claim of nationality-based discrimination, seem to violate the UCoC (§ 2.1.2, and possibly § 2.2).

With all that being said, filing a case with the Coordinating Committee should be done when there's, including but not limited to,

  • "lack of local self-governance capacity to enforce the UCoC";
  • "consistent local decisions that conflict with the UCoC";
  • "refusal of local self-governance structures and teams to enforce the UCoC".

None of that is the case here. The acting administrator's decisions align with Bosnian Wikipedia's established norms, and no evidence suggests a pattern of UCoC violations requiring external intervention. If no objections arise to the acting administrator's actions, it's reasonable to assume that there is consensus for such actions, and users should reflect on feedback and adjust their approach accordingly. – Srđan (talk) 17:28, 29 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
