Tremendous Wiktionary User Group/Annual Report 2022
Appearance
Report of the Tremendous Wiktionary User Group for the sixth year: September 2021 to September 2022.
Report
[edit]The group
[edit]Started at Wikimania 2016, this User Group went recognized on September 26 the same year. After a year it reached 42 affiliates; after two, 49 members; after three, 57 members; and the list counts now 62 members.
Meta and WMF activities
[edit]- We took part in the 2022 Community Wishlist Survey with seven proposals by members or non-members. The most supported idea, Insert attestation using Wikisource as a corpus received 43 votes and reached rank 64. It is very similar as previous proposal, and this proposal with be posted again in the future, without any changes.
- We (at least, I, Noé) haven't took part to Strategic Wikimedia Affiliates Network, because of Wikimedia Space experience.
Lustrum Appraisal
[edit]- In January 2022, Noé personally invited each member of the group to participate to the First Lustrum Appraisal. Only two people answered the call, one member and one ally. This document was meant to help to rebuild the User Group. It could be seem as a personal feedback on the trajectory of the User Group.
Miscellaneous
[edit]- The monthly newsletter for the French edition, Actualités is still running, but usually not translated.
- Sorry, we haven't published any April Fools joke this year. We imagined something about an hymn for Wiktionary, but it may be received as a bad pun for all the people motivated by the on-going initiative for a sound logo.
Plan for 2022-2023
[edit]It is probably time to close this User Group and to rethink interlingual cooperation between wiktionaries.
