Train the Trainers Nigeria (TTTNG) is an iniatiative of the Wikimedia Usergroup Nigeria to groom leaders and members of the various Wikimedia Nigeria's hubs/clubs in Nigeria.

WUGN is going to organize the Train-the-Trainer for South East Nigeria on 22 & 23 September 2022.

Objectives

  • To groom the active Wikimedians from various southeastern Nigeria communities as trainers;
  • To inculcate the movement values and collaborative spirit among the Nigerian communities;
  • To support the process of transforming volunteer contributing in individual capacity into a leader working closely with various communities at Nigeria and global level.

Event details

  • Dates: 22 & 23 September 2022 (Participants outside the host city are expected to reach by 5 pm on 21 September i.e. Day 0)
  • Place: Awka , Anambra state
  • Venue: TBD via email to selected participants

Eligibility criteria

  • Any active Wikimedian from south eastern Nigeria, contributing to any Nigeria language Wikimedia project (including English) is eligible to apply.
  • An editor with at least 300 edits on zero-namespace before 1 August 2022.
  • Anyone who has an interest to conduct offline/real-life Wiki events and to train others.
  • Note: anyone who has already participated in an earlier iteration of TTT, cannot apply.

Support

  • Travel support will be provided to participants.
  • Accommodation will be provided to participants outside Anambra state.
  • Technical provisions like internet and food will be provided.

Registration

There are a few steps:

  1. Please fill this form to show your interest to join. The last date of signing up is the 8th of September 2022 Please fill the form in details.
  2. You may post on your project group about the application. A post may look like (example) "Hello, I am interested to participate in WUGN TTT SE 2022, and I have applied for the same. So far I have been working on "this", "this". I wish to learn "A", "B"."
    Post on groups is not mandatory, but it will great to see applications which are discussed/endorsed by the communities.
  3. In an effort to encourage participation from women, at least 25% of the participants at TTT SE 2022 would comprise of women Wikimedians.

  • Till 8 Sep: Application open
  • By 12 Sep: Selection of the participants and announcement by mail
  • Till 15 September: Confirmation from participants.
  • 15 Sep to 18 Sep: Logistics, transport booking

FAQ

  • Are you hosting TTT in every state in Nigeria?
No. We will be hosting it base on geographical location i.e for south east, south south, North Central e.t.c
  • I am from neighboring State away from the south east. Can I apply for this event?
No. This event is for Wikimedians from South Eastern Nigria only.
  • Will travel and accommodation be taken care of?
Yes, for participants outside the host city
  • Can I join for 1 day, instead of all 2 days?
Partial participation is not possible.
  • I do not have a laptop, can you arrange a laptop which I'll use during the event?
We'll try, after the selection is confirmed, please let us know but particpants will laptop will be priotitized.
  • Can I bring my friend(s)?
