The Wikipedia Library/Newsletter/January-February 2025
In this issue we highlight a new partner, a spotlight on the Wikimedia+Libraries International Convention, a note about the Suggest page, and, as always, a roundup of news and community items related to libraries and digital knowledge.

Spotlight: Wikimedia+Libraries International Convention
[edit]The second edition of the Wikimedia+Libraries International Convention 2025 took place from 15 to 17 January 2025, in Mexico City. Also known as WikiLibCon25, this event welcomed an international group of Wikimedians, information professionals, and partners interested in the intersection of Wikimedia and libraries.
The Wikipedia Library team delivered an unconference session to introduce the library, and open a discussion about how attendees use the library, what improvements they would like to see, and what collections or topics are missing. The slides from the session are available here.
Tech tip: Suggest page
[edit]The Suggest page is the best way to highlight resources and collections that you'd like the library to have access to. You can add a new resource that you've just discovered, or upvote existing suggestions to bring the most important opportunities to the top.
Once a partner has joined the Library, we notify users who have upvoted it that these resources are now available. However, sometimes users add suggestions for resources that are already part of the Library. Be sure to check both tabs of your collections page to avoid requesting resources to which we already have access, and report any technical problems via Phabricator rather than a Suggest entry.
These are some suggestions that we've deleted recently because we already have access to them:
