Book requests:
We send books to Wikipedia editors for writing Wikipedia articles.
Request a book
[edit]Step 1 Find the book you need to improve Wikipedia from one of the following online booksellers:
- Amazon.com
- Neelwafurat.com
- Make sure that shipping is available to your country from the online bookseller you select.
- Is there another online bookseller you prefer? Suggest it!
Step 2 Use the button below to make your book request.
- Make sure that you and your book meet the criteria for requests.
By participating in this program, you understand and agree that your name, address, and email address will be shared with representatives of the Wikimedia Foundation, Wikipedia Library, and other services for the purpose of this program (such as ordering your books). While representatives of the Wikipedia Library are volunteers (not employees or contractors of the Wikimedia Foundation), they have signed confidentiality agreements with the Wikimedia Foundation with regards to the personal information they may handle for the Wikipedia Library.
What happens next?
[edit]Step 3 A Wikipedia Library Account Coordinator will process your request within a few days.
- If your request meets the criteria, they will approve the request and update the status.
- The coordinator will then contact you privately to ask for your shipping address.
- The coordinator will order the book online and have it shipped to you.
Step 4 Confirm when your book arrives and when you've used it to improve Wikipedia.
- Confirm when your book arrives by posting an update in the space provided on your request.
- Confirm you used the book to improve Wikipedia by posting another update within 3 months, with links to articles you created or improved.
Step 5 Come back again when you need another book for writing more articles!
Criteria for requests
[edit]- The book you are requesting must be a reliable source for use in Wikipedia articles.
- Maximum cost per request (without shipping): $200
- You are an active editor who has made at least 200 edits to Wikipedia.
- Any past book requests you've had were put to good use - you completed all status updates for your request, demonstrating how you made use of the book to improve Wikipedia.
