[edit]Hi, both "Wikimedia Community of Togo User Group" and "Wikimedia Community User Group Togo" uses the same code. Maybe we should change them to address correct community. --Joseph (talk) 19:54, 27 February 2025 (UTC)
- This is strange. We have been two different target pages with two different approval resolutions of AffCom:
- If this group was renamed, then need to closure old page or merge their? Kaganer (talk) 16:26, 3 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Akouete, @Hermannkass, @Skelebee - you may commented this situation? Kaganer (talk) 16:31, 3 March 2025 (UTC)
- Hello @Kaganer,
- Thank you for your message and for bringing this situation to our attention.
- The page "Wikimedia Community of Togo User Group" corresponds to the officially approved User Group as of May 4, 2024.
- The other page, "Wikimedia Community User Group Togo," refers to a former User Group whose affiliation has been withdrawn. The coexistence of these two pages may indeed cause confusion.
- If possible, could you put the old page on hold, archive it, or propose it for deletion to avoid any ambiguity?
- For further clarification on this matter, you may also contact the Affiliation Committee. Thank you!
- Best regards, Akouete (talk) 17:07, 3 March 2025 (UTC)
- Very thanks! I'm bring to @Mehman (WMF) and I hope he takes all appropriate actions ;) Kaganer (talk) 18:00, 3 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Joseph, Akouete, and Kaganer: hi all, thanks for raising this issue. I can confirm that Wikimedia Community User Group Togo is no longer an active affiliate by February 11, 2024 and that Wikimedia Community of Togo User Group is the only active User Group in the country right now, using the affiliate code "TGO". I have marked the former page with {{FormerAffiliate}} template and removed it from this template. Please let me know if you encountered any more of this discrepancies elsewhere on Meta. 151 or 152?
[edit]My manual count here has the number of user groups at 152, but the automated (?) counter has it at 151. Thought someone should know. Ed WMF [talk] 19:46, 7 March 2025 (UTC)
- That “automated counter” is just another template maintained by User:RamzyM (WMF). He updated both templates yesterday; probably one of you two counted incorrectly. —Tacsipacsi (talk) 21:58, 7 March 2025 (UTC)
