Support Button for different purposes
[edit]@MusikAnimal (WMF): Hi, I want to add this kind of buttons for other pages on Punjabi Wikisource. Is it possible? If yes, can you help me with that? I tried but was unable to do so. I will be thankful if you help me regarding this.--*•.¸♡ ℍ𝕒𝕣𝕕𝕒𝕣𝕤𝕙𝕒𝕟 𝔹𝕖𝕟𝕚𝕡𝕒𝕝 ♡¸.•*𝕋𝕒𝕝𝕜 05:51, 25 November 2019 (UTC)

- @Benipal hardarshan: I think you may be talking about Meta:AddMe. This is the gadget that is used for voting. Which pages specifically do you want to use it on? I can probably help set it up on your wiki, but we will need help from an interface administrator. MusikAnimal (WMF) (talk) 16:04, 25 November 2019 (UTC)
- @MusikAnimal (WMF): I am an interface admin ;-) --*•.¸♡ ℍ𝕒𝕣𝕕𝕒𝕣𝕤𝕙𝕒𝕟 𝔹𝕖𝕟𝕚𝕡𝕒𝕝 ♡¸.•*𝕋𝕒𝕝𝕜 17:09, 25 November 2019 (UTC)
- @Benipal hardarshan: Great! Which pages(s) would you like to use this gadget on? We'll want to make sure it is built to work on those pages. MusikAnimal (WMF) (talk) 17:32, 25 November 2019 (UTC)
- @MusikAnimal (WMF): On village pump subpage(for admin rights) or on other pages for people to sign easily without going in edit section.--*•.¸♡ ℍ𝕒𝕣𝕕𝕒𝕣𝕤𝕙𝕒𝕟 𝔹𝕖𝕟𝕚𝕡𝕒𝕝 ♡¸.•*𝕋𝕒𝕝𝕜 17:36, 25 November 2019 (UTC)
- @Benipal hardarshan: AddMe generally is designed to work on a specific section, e.g. a page where the sections don't change. If that is true, we can probably make it work for your wiki. This will be pretty hard to set up without doing it myself. Have you tried following the instructions at Meta:AddMe? You'll first need to copy over the files listed at Meta:AddMe#Development. In MediaWiki:Gadget-addMe.js, change the references to "meta.wikimedia" to "pa.wikisource". Once that's done, review Meta:AddMe#Configuration on how to configure it to work on your pages. Finally, we can create the button that is used to add the support template. This does not have to be "Probox", as the instructions say.
That all said, AddMe really needs to be easier to set up, and to work on any wiki! Save that for a Hackathon :) MusikAnimal (WMF) (talk) 23:12, 25 November 2019 (UTC)
- @MusikAnimal (WMF): Thanks for the steps. I'll try them if they don't work I'll contact you.*•.¸♡ ℍ𝕒𝕣𝕕𝕒𝕣𝕤𝕙𝕒𝕟 𝔹𝕖𝕟𝕚𝕡𝕒𝕝 ♡¸.•*𝕋𝕒𝕝𝕜 01:30, 26 November 2019 (UTC)

- Hey sorry for the late reply. I'll have to get back to you on Monday. It's a long holiday weekend here in America. I've got this tab open in my browser so I won't forget :) Best, MusikAnimal (WMF) (talk) 21:34, 27 November 2019 (UTC)
