www.wikinews.org template is the raw, live HTML source code of a Wikimedia project portal. Changes made there are seen by millions of people within an hour – sooner to anyone who clears their browser's cache. (Note, some portals use the deployment schedule and there will be a delay until release.) Do not edit this code unless you know what you're doing, and do not edit it by hand – intelligent Scribunto modules are ready to assist you. You can experiment with the template in the sandbox. To change language names, romanizations, etc., edit Module:Project portal/wikis. Then get the attention of a Meta administrator who can deploy your changes: place an {{Edit Protected}} notice at Talk:www.wikinews.org template or Meta:Requests for help from a sysop or bureaucrat.

Administrators: Always follow the instructions on the edit page of www.wikinews.org template to a tee.

Russian Wikinews Update

[edit]

{{Edit Protected}} The Russian edition has reached 10000 articles in the main space. See n:ru:Служебная:Статистика. It is necessary to move the link to Russian Wikinews to the section 10 000+. And on top change "9 000+ статей" to "10 000+ статей". --sasha (krassotkin) 11:20, 18 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Done. Matiia (talk) 15:03, 18 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
Hm... strange. I've cleaned the cache a lot of times and changed nothing. Glaisher, any idea? maybe this is now updated on Gerrit as well? Matiia (talk) 14:55, 19 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
Yep, looks like all the portals are now off-wiki. --Glaisher (talk) 12:00, 20 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Done - Did gerrit:279970 and @MaxSem merged it. Changes should be visible in a couple of minutes, after all the automated code-checks are run. —MarcoAurelio 17:39, 28 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Limburgish Wikinews reached 1000 articles

[edit]

{{Edit Protected}} Hi! :) Please move li.wikisource from 100+ to 1000+ te reflect statistics. Thank you :) --OosWesThoesBes (talk) 08:37, 31 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Assuming this was referring to li.wikinews. Anyway, looks like this has been done already, even though the start-Edit protected-end template was never actually transcluded here. ~~~~

Wikinews Portal Update

[edit]

Needs to update portal by current version of this template. See phab:T287088.
@MarcoAurelio, You may help us? Kaganer (talk) 16:52, 20 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hey @Kaganer, sorry for the late reply. The Meta template seems to be up-to-date, as well as the dependencies upon which the template is built. I am not sure why https://www.wikinews.org does not reflect those changes yet. Project portal updates happens once a week on Mondays. If this hasn't changed, @JDrewniak (WMF) was the person managing the updates/deployment. Could you please ask them if there's any issues? Best regards. —MarcoAurelio (talk) 18:04, 22 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Kaganer and JDrewniak (WMF): Looking a bit further I see that the last time the live code of the wikinews.org template code was updated happened on June 28, 2021. There are several unmerged commits from the bot that generates the updated stats. I don't know the reason why those commits remain unmerged, but I assume the work being done on updating the npm/nodeJS dependencies might be the cause. Best regards, —MarcoAurelio (talk) 18:16, 22 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
@MarcoAurelio, @JDrewniak (WMF) - thanks, Wikinews Portal is updated now! Kaganer (talk) 16:11, 7 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
