Wikipedia Asian Month 2024 on Thai Wikipedia
[edit]Dear International Team,
@Betty2407, Reke, Joycewikiwiki, and Waniosa Amedestir: On the Thai Wikipedia, some people wonder if the article "Japan–Thailand Economic Partnership Agreement" meets the conditions. Because the rules state that it can be created in any country except Thailand. This article only shows the relationship between the two countries.
Best regards,

- Hi @B20180, Thank you for reaching out to us. Yes, if your local rules require content to be written specifically for other country, our recommendation for this case would be not to grant points. However, if your rules do not have such a stipulation, points can be granted.
- We would like to say that ultimately, your jury members hold the final decision-making authority, so we suggest that you have an internal discussion. Betty2407 (talk) 10:10, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
English Fountain tool is configured wrong and blocking submission
[edit]It may be pretty late to mention this when the competition wraps up in 2 days, but I discovered that there is an issue with the configuration for the Fountain tool in English while trying to submit. The criteria says "you have to edit on/create an article of at least 3,000 bytes with reliable resources. Creating/editing a list also counts" (bolding the editing part). However, the Fountain blocks anyone from submitting a qualified article because it was initially created by someone else. I checked Chinese's Fountain contest page and didn't see this configuration problem. Pinging juries Haoreima, MSG17, Narutolovehinata5, SuperHamster and ZI Jony for visibility. - Hi OhanaUnited, thanks for your interest in the contest and bringing this to our attention. However, I don't see the discrepancy as en:Wikipedia:Wikipedia Asian Month/2024 only qualifies articles created by the user (not including lists except featured lists) as valid entries, as have past runs. - Then it should be made more clear in future years if English has its own local rules (just from spot checking, I can see that Spanish, French, Chinese and possibly the rest all use global rules). Is there a particular reason why English uses local rules and doesn't use the global rules? Even the page that you linked has this description in the intro... "Each participating community runs a month-long online edit-a-thon every November on their language's Wikipedia to create new content or improve existing articles about Asian topics" (emphasis mine). You can see where the confusion comes from. OhanaUnitedTalk page 15:41, 28 November 2024 (UTC)
