Talk:Wikipedia 15/Events/Hong Kong

I've kicked off the consultation process of WP15 celebrations in Hong Kong last night when I took part in the second part of the micro ESEA meetup. I talked with several local colleagues there. From our preliminary inquiry last month Think Cafe was a possible venue for the celebration. HKU and CUHK are also suggested as alternative venues, though we would be in a hurry if we have to book a room there. Outdoors not possible. Kris suggested to hold a seminar to mark this as a low-cost option. Once we are decided, he may provide help - to contact with press. I hope that we can make a decision by December for convenience in venue booking and etc, though there's just a month left before we have to decide.

Welcome for suggestion for how we can achieve a well celebration for WP15. Both Chinese and English are okay, as long as each other understand.

昨晚我已經啟動了維基百科建站15週年香港區慶祝活動的籌備討論，我在參加微型東亞及東南亞維基人聚會（第二場）的時候就已經跟幾位香港同工討論到這個話題。根據上個月我們進行的初步調查，Think Cafe是活動場地的可行選址。大家提出的其他可行場地還包括港大和中大，不過如果我們確實要在這兩家大學預約場地，就會很趕忙。在戶外舉行慶祝活動並不可行。Kris提議以舉行講座這個低成本方式來慶祝建站15週年。他或許可以在我們做了決定之後在通知傳媒採訪這方面幫忙。時間趕忙，我希望我們可以在12月定案，方便我們在預定場地等方面辦事，雖然這樣一來我們討論的期限就只剩下一個月了。

Community within HK

As previously mentioned, we are yet to decide the format. A preliminary suggestion is to held our regular meeting as usual on that day, which coincides with the third Friday on that month. I also plan to held a trans-regional IRC meeting on that day (I'll announce my plan during the week of 21st, as it doesn't take too much time to prepare), and explore possibilities to connect these activities with other meetings hold for this purpose in Sinosphere. A Seminar is also proposed, but it is a problem for who to invite and where to hold, esp. when we have less than two months left. I will follow up how the event is prepared and will discuss this on the Dec. meetup, though Rover told me that December meetup usually face a danger in cancellation. --Spring Roll Conan ( Teahouse | Contributions ) 10:06, 5 December 2015 (UTC)

Ideas for our celebration

We will probably make use of our January meetup to celebrate WP15, as the venue and the date for this is secured, when we don't have enough time to book for another venue. Though being quite dictatorial, I would suggest some ideas for the format of our celebration even that only a handful of us are involved in this discussion:

我們可能會藉着一月聚會來慶祝維基百科建站十五週年，因為一般聚會的場地和日期都已經確定，而且要租用其他場地也已經太遲了。我們當中參與討論的人不多；雖然我自認獨裁，不過我會在此建議慶祝活動的部分安排：

• Our celebration will hold at Think Cafe in Causeway Bay (as usual meetup), on 15th January 2016.

我們的慶祝活動和一般聚會一樣，會在2016年1月15日在銅鑼灣Think Cafe舉行。

• We estimate that we may welcome more guests than usual in this event (due to our eye-catching sitenotice).

我們預計參加這次活動的來賓會比一般聚會多（因為我們會藉助醒目的站內通告宣傳）。

• Chapter members, "Grassroot editors", guests abroad, ordinary readers and correspondent (if any) are welcomed. (but trolls, which will be expelled with Safe Spaces Policy)

歡迎分會會員、「基層編輯」、外賓、一般讀者和記者（如有）參加。（根據安全場地方針，擾亂者會被驅逐。）

• Quite hard to invite speakers (due to time constraint), but this is not ruled out. For correspondents we will have arrangements.

由於時間關係，邀請講者會比較難，不過這未必不可能。對於記者，我們會再作安排。

• We may have some small presentations and discussions during the meetup. We checked the projectors during our last meetup.

這次活動可能會有小型的演講和討論環節。我們在上次聚會期間就檢查過場地的投影設備。

• A cake for the purpose should be prepared. Stroopwafel may be provided if there's a strong demand (but I heard from Rover that it is too sweet [for Hongkongers/ethnic Chinese/whoever]).

應該會準備一個度身訂造的蛋糕。如果反應熱烈的話，可以考慮提供荷式格仔餅（不過Rover說這種甜點[對香港人／華人來說]太甜了）。

• It may be hard to materialize Liang's idea to blend the education program with our celebration - publishing is already a problem.

實現上官兄把教育專案和慶祝活動融合的建議可能困難，因為出版就已經是一個問題了。

• Possibilities to link our celebrations with the IRC celebration is worth studying. Though we may hold the only real-life meetup for WP15 in the Sinosphere, as Taiwanese will vote for their president the day after.

慶祝活動和IRC聚會聯繫的可能值得考慮。然而這個活動可能是大中華地區唯一一場慶祝維基百科建站十五週年的實體聚會，因為台灣人會在一天後投票選出新總統。
