[edit]Why is translation limited to اردو, Türkçe, and বাংলা? --Sebastian Wallroth (talk) 18:37, 18 June 2023 (UTC)
- Hello @Sebastian Wallroth, we (all the partners) had intended to have the translations of this page limited to Turkish, Bangla and Urdu only because of the of the project's limitations, and our focus to have this done in these languages only. If you want to have this page translated to another language, please let me know. Best, ─ Aafi @ DCW (talk) 19:19, 18 June 2023 (UTC)
- Hi @TheAafi (DCW), I think it is a pity that you want to limit the materials only to certain languages. I find it even more unfortunate that you also want to allow reporting on your project only in certain languages. I would like as many people as possible to know about your great project. - Dear @Sebastian Wallroth, I understand your concerns. This was of course not intended by any of us. The translations were limited whilst and when the project was being defined, made, and in making. We have put up a detailed blog about this on Diff: Wikipedia 101 – a cross cultural Wikimedia outreach video tutorial project, which is available for translation in all languages. Nonetheless, given the completion of this project, and your notes, I am making a note and removing the translation limitations here as well. Best regards, ─ Aafi @ DCW (talk) 07:32, 19 June 2023 (UTC)
- Meanwhile, I would like to assure you that we don't lack the intention of having this project available in each and every language but we lack the capacity and infrastructure. We were not connected with a lot of people when we began working on this project, and hence the limitation bar on translation of the Meta-Wiki page only and not on any sort of reporting etc. I appreciate your concerns from the depth of my heart. Open Collaboration brings life to Wikimedia projects and we would welcome anyone who wishes to have this project made available in languages that the making partners of this project do not know. Best regards, ─ Aafi @ DCW (talk) 07:52, 19 June 2023 (UTC)
