Guys, This is currently for Wikipedia. It would be of tremendous help if similar projects were to be created for the other projects. Could you guys help with this? Currently, I'm working on several projects, and the help would be much appreciated.Wikiblue (18:18, 2 March 2007, from history)
- Being bold, I changed the page structure. If we invite the whole community, not only Comcom folks, it would be much helpful. Then after we can do fact-checking with help of trustworthy people ... is it okay for you? --Aphaia 08:13, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
Okay, is this key messages about Wikipedia or Wikimedia in general? The other projects should get more than just the last bullet point if this is for a general press pack. -- Zanimum 16:31, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
- Agreed. If the latter is the case, I hope the materials on Wikimedia:Our projects can help to expand it. I updated it in the last December. It would be incomplete but could be a startpoint. --Aphaia 17:12, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
- I heard from a person who works as press contact in the Japanese project, Wikibook is the most frequently asked project among us besides Wikipedia. And I saw Wikinews mentioned sometimes. If it is too far from realistic to list the detailed data on all projects, Wikibooks, Wikinews and Commons (as a repository it has been sometimes mentioned) could be focused on here. However it is of course ideal every press contact is knowledgeable for our every project to some extent. --Aphaia 17:23, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
Other interest
[edit]Through my experience
- Press people are not only interested in the Wikipedia as a whole, it is sometimes very wrapped with the English Wikipedia, but also in the Wikipedia in their language. It means French press would be interested in the date French Wikipedia launched. In some cases they are not impressed when (monolingual English) project was launched but only when their favorite language project went live.
- So I propose to make a checklist in addition to this fact lists. Each Wikimedia press contact can fill blanks with detailed data of their own projects (launched data, article number, users, pageview)
- They are interested also in pageview per day. The most accessed pages are also their interest in many cases.
Just thoughts. --Aphaia 17:19, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
"over 200"
[edit]Though it is often said so and I admit it is catchy, I am afraid it is a bit boastful. See Which projects are active?.
