Education spendings

Lila apparently stressed the "need to be able to show results when spending money" and included all the chapters or country volunteers which run education programs into this requirement. However, you must realize what kind of job you are giving to the Education team. There are dozens of education programs all over the world and some of them are very difficult to contact (I recently found that out when looking for education programs in Balcan). Financially, these education programs are sometimes completely free (no granting at all), sometimes they do not require their own money but use the infrastructure of the local chapters or other institutions in the country, and sometimes they are funded by Project and Event grants which they themselves are responsible for reporting. It is quite difficult for me to understand why the Education team of WMF, itself mainly a "supporting" organization for the education efforts all over the world, should be responsible for reporting for the expenses in all the countries. Thank you for your comment, Vojtech. And thanks for emphasizing the different scales of education programs from your experience. Our team agrees that we are trying to work with and support a diverse set of programs, and many of them receive no funding at all. Programs that do receive WMF funding report through their respective grant reports, and our colleagues in Grantmaking work with program leaders to make sure that these reports measure and show impact. During our conversation with Lila, we emphasized that there are many programs that do not receive any funding at all.
