Geonotices aren't too difficult to request. I asked for one for the CSU Edit-a-thon. The hardest part was defining the geographic box. What message would we put in it to invite people to join WRM?

Hello! I just moved to the area. I'd love to be involved with a Wikimedia chapter out here (I was already looking for campus ambassadors when I arrived...didn't find many). I like GLAM projects. Excellent. Organise away. The less work the rest of us have to do, the more likely we are to support you. Personally I like the idea of starting a proper group, but I wound up too demotivated to actually do it; if you poke around you may find more... helpful folks? Hard to say. Move to Rockies Wikimedians?

You will need to change the name in order to be approved as a Wikimedia User Group. (Unfortunately, the "Wikimedia X" name, according to current Affiliations Committee policy, can only go to full Chapters.) The "Wikimedia New England" group decided to rename itself to New England Wikimedians to satisfy this requirement, and perhaps a name of this kind can work for your region too.--Pharos (talk) 01:48, 17 July 2014 (UTC)
