Add topicLink in message
[edit]The link in the message "Become a candidate." and its respective other language versions always leads to the English page. Wouldn't it be better to link to the particular other language? So, for example the nl: version, "Stel uzelf kandidaat." would link to Board elections/2009/nl. Regards, Niels 19:30, 20 July 2009 (UTC)
- Hello, looking at Special:CentralNotice it seems that all the notices are linking to the English version, I supose because it is the official one. Regards, —Dferg (talk) 19:34, 20 July 2009 (UTC)
- I surmised something like that as well. Still, it doesn't make much sense to make translated pages when you don't link to them ;-). Niels 19:58, 20 July 2009 (UTC)
"Hide" link
[edit]The hide link in the message seems to hide it permanently. How do I get the message back? DHN 18:52, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

Depressed
[edit]The Welsh (cy) central notice was translated on 10 July and promptly published on 11 July (thank you). However, the site notice is still appearing in English on the Welsh wikipedia on the 25th. I know that this is not down to those wikimedians working very hard on administering translations here at meta. But I would like to say that I am losing heart somewhat. I presume that what is happening is that the update of the smaller wikis for these central notices is way down the bottom of some job queue with priority close to zero. Is this correct? If so, is there any way that we smaller wikis can request to get things processed a little faster? And is there a way to find out the status of these central notices as far as updating a particular wiki is concerned? If I am not asking these questions in the right place please point me in the right direction. Lloffiwr 09:36, 25 July 2009 (UTC)
- Have just seen that a lot of the messages on welsh wikipedia have reverted to english - not just the central notice - so I guess it there is a problem on the servers - so please ignore the first part of the above. However, if anyone knows how this problem should be reported I would be grateful if you would let me know. Lloffiwr 09:45, 25 July 2009 (UTC)
- Not sure what the error was, but it seems to be showing up now. Also, in response to your question, errors like these should probably be reported on bugzilla. Cbrown1023 talk 19:51, 25 July 2009 (UTC)
- Oops, the error was on my part - was under time pressure to get something done and that's when it all falls apart! Thanks for the tip on reporting on Bugzilla, although just as well I didn't know how this time else I'd only have embarrassed myself even further. Lloffiwr 21:38, 26 July 2009 (UTC)
