Incubator:Wikinews projects

[edit]

Hi, it seems like the Language Committee is not functioning properly, possibly due to understaffing or the majority of members being inactive and not engaging with the Incubator communities. It's possible that many of the members are not interested in smaller Wikimedia projects outside of Wikipedia. In light of this, I request that the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees create a separate committee for small wikis. Currently, according to the Language Proposal Policy and general guidelines, a project must demonstrate activity by having 3+ users active for 3+ months. Our Wikinews project (Requests for new languages/Wikinews Sylheti) has been active for 12+ months, but no action has been taken by Langcom. Please consider my proposal to create a separate committee for smaller wikis. -- ꠢꠣꠍꠘ ꠞꠣꠎꠣ (talk) 08:23, 29 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

If the Language Committee is understaffed or has too many inactive members, why do you think a second committee will have enough active members? It would be more effective to simply encourage more users to join the existing committee. —Tacsipacsi (talk) 20:03, 29 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

Feedback on Wikimedia Bangladesh

[edit]

Feedback on Wikimedia Bangladesh, focusing on whether they are catering to all 50 languages, addressing knowledge gaps, and whether the dominant language communities (such as Bengali) are supporting or disrupting smaller language projects:
