Some notes
[edit]- 29 peoples in the room, most already did workshops but not all
- no need to talks about material (wifi, plugs, etc.)
- preparation
- the organizer
- people too passionate without knowing in advance how Wikipedia works
- how much amount of times, go into details how many resources exactly
- who are the audience, the people ? are they X or Y ? doesn't they know how WP works ? did they participate in the past ?
- in Israel, we don't do introduction nor presentation before the workshop, it's less time to edit which is why people came
- important: create you username in advance (even less time wasted for the workshop, especially with the 6 accounts per IP limit)
- a lot of information in an username: XXlovesVanGogh, you can prepare articles need improvment about van Gogh
- VISUAL_EDITOR ONLY!
- question at the end of the workshop: what went well? or wrong? useful to understand, hear the people and got feedbacks. Help to know what to do next time.
- Big question: What is in it for me?
- We're believer, we all love Wikipedia, of course
- good for the ego too (if you like and enjoy it of course, don't push yourself)
- « I edit for XX year and did YYY edits »
- worst experience was with editor that you don't understand (different subjects and even words)
- do workshops that suits you! improving is knowledge is important but do it efficiently
- discussions
