Supporting the initiative

We've been receiving guidance and advice from the CEE Hub team the last couple of years and this has helped our team a lot, especially in understanding the procedures and various structures (there is a lot of them...) and most important connecting us with regional initiatives. Ensuring the resilience of community bodies

I believe the Hub should support the resilience of CEE community bodies (such as the organizers of the CEE Spring, the program committee of the CEE Meeting etc.). In the most optimistic scenario, it would involve only touching base with the groups members once or twice a year and checking for the involvement level they're willing to maintain. If changes are needed (this should be determined by the volunteers themselves, not the Hub!) the staff should support the recruitement of new members from the CEE communities (1 person-week of staff time).

As far as the document goes, I propose to add in Wikimedia CEE Hub/Grant proposal 2025#Programmatic_support a new bullet stating:

Supporting the community bodies active at regional level, such as, but not limited to the organizers of the CEE Spring and the program committee of the CEE Meeting, by ensuring the required resources are available to the bodies. The Hub can offer assistance with recruiting new members or resolving technical issues that prevent the bodies from fulfilling their mission.

Supporting CEEHubs continual work

As Wikimedians of Romania and Moldova User Group we have been fortunate to receive valuable guidance and support from the CEE Hub team over the past year or so. Their assistance has been instrumental in helping us better understand the various procedures, organizational structures and best practices within our movement. Most importantly, they have connected us with regional initiatives and volunteers that helped us grow as a group.

We appreciate the HUB's commitment to guide the development of our community and we support the proposed plan. This vision aligns closely with our goals, and we look forward to working together for communities in CEE region. Klaul (talk) 14:21, 19 October 2024 (UTC)
