Talk:Wikimania-Registration

Add topic
From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

In addition to surveys of all Wikimedians about Wikimania, we should have a separate information-survey of the people who actually sign up to ttend.

Erik is planning to write a survey of would-be attendees, or something to gauge the interest of people from various parts of the world in coming to the conference. Super. Austin is trying to keep the number of fields on the reg-form itself small. Fabulous. However: there are bits of information it would be extremely useful to have (from a programming and coordination standpoint, to help make sure the conference is fun for everyone, to help gauge and improve its diversity of projects and opinions). Here are a few:

  • WM Projects of interest (ranked, perhaps, by interest)
  • Wikiprojects involved with
  • Favorite activities on the projects
  • Favorite uses of the projects for non-WM work (research, reading, linguistics, examples in presentations...)
  • The Human Genome, The Evolutionary Library
    • Translation of DNA-Squences into the Human Language
