Open Proxy template

I can't edit at this time. Following the intructions leads me here. What do I need to do to be able to edit? Thanks in advance. 192.251.226.205 02:25, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

Confirmed proxies from the English Wikipedia

Hi all. The list of proxy IPs below have been verified on the English Wikipedia by checkuser as being both open proxies, and having been used abusively (by Grawp, as it happens). Some of them were discovered by User:Thatcher and some by me, but I have verified them all myself. Just FYI. - Alison 05:50, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

  • Ooh great, not a good idea to block them individually now, we may have to wait for Global blocking to be implemented before we can actually do something about it sadly ...--Cometstyles 05:59, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
Why is it not a good idea to block them individually now?  — Mike.lifeguard | @en.wb 10:29, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
Well of course they can be blocked individually i.e if the individual wikis want them blocked but we can't really ask the stewards to individually go around wikis blocking this ip with over 700 wikis and 56 ips, maybe as i mentioned once on the stewards IRC channel, they should get a bot with "steward rights" which the stewards can control and programme it to block ips on all wikis or the sys admins can run a mediawiki script to block all ips on the server from a list (MediaWiki:Blocked proxies) or something similar...hmm that could work, and stewards can add ips to the list that needs to be blocked globally, hmm till Global blocking becomes a reality, this may work..is it possible ?..--Cometstyles 12:00, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
