Submission sent after Deadline[edit]

Dear colleagues User:Ceslause, User:Ptinphusmia, User:Islahaddow, User:Anthere, User:Ruby D-Brown,

We are contacting you after seeing that this submission was created on July 7, 2023 and put in the Category:WikiIndaba Conference 2023 submissions. As you know, the deadline of program submission for Wiki Indaba 2023 was June 30, 2023. This submission was sent a week after the deadline, and after a discussion with the program committee, the decision is of course to not consider it for examination.

We would like to inform you about this decision so that you are aware about it, and that you will not receive a specific return related to this submission. Also, please note that this will not impact the outcome of the other submissions sent by the people present in this one, but we would like to ask you please not to replicate this behavior, so that the program committee can concentrate on examining the submissions that were sent on time. Thank you for your understanding, and have a good continuation of your day. All the best!

Good morning Anass. It was a last minute arrangement which I discussed with Reda. However, I can understand the decision as it didn't meet the deadline. Thank you. Ceslause (talk) 09:38, 12 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
Good morning Ceslause and thank you for your answer. Yes, unfortunately we were not able to reach Reda earlier, but now that we talked he confirmed that you have discussed with him and that he told you that it is fine to send at that time. With this new information, the committee changed its decision and they will consider the submission for examination. Really sorry about the confusion as we were not aware about this situation, but it is now solved (to the better :-). Thank you again for your understanding, and have a good day! -- Best -- Anass Sedrati (talk) 10:39, 12 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thank you so much Anass! I really appreciate your effort in resolving this. Enjoy your day too. Cheers! Ceslause (talk) 11:16, 12 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
