A change in the grant proposal

[edit]

Last week, when I went through the anatomy and physiology content on Wikimedia Commons, I found that most of the images from an earlier version of the "Anatomy and Physiology" Openstax textbook have already been uploaded to Commons (the category for these images can be found here). I did not find these images earlier during the application phase because these images were uploaded in low resolution and jpeg format in the category 'CNX Textbooks' (instead of OpenStax Textbooks). The new pilot uploads of the same images also became successful for this reason.

The original textbook has good quality descriptions for the images, but most of the uploaded images lack informative descriptions. Therefore, as a part of the Human Body project, I will NOT do mass uploads of all the images from the textbook, but add only a restricted number of new images from the newer version of the OpenStax textbook. I will also add informative descriptions to the images by using the content from the OpenStax textbook. Structured data will also be added to the existing images.

Since the deadline for submission of proposals has passed, I am not changing the original proposal, but I want to make a slight change to the scope of the project involving the above details. The main scope of the project remains unchanged, and the mapping of knowledge gaps as well as content uptake will be done in the same way as planned in the project proposal. Pinging @Ariel Cetrone (WMDC) to bring this change to the attention of the evaluation committee. Netha Hussain (talk) 12:05, 11 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
