Alternative methods for communicating with team

So...IRC meetings at noon PST are pretty inconvenient for most North Americans who work during the standard business day; however, with a very significant focus on preparing for greater activation on enwiki, North American editors are major stakeholders. What alternative methods for communicating with the VE team will be available? These should be public, and should come with a similar level of expectation for response that IRC chats would have. @Risker: We're considering varying the scheduled time for some weeks, running these at 16:00 UTC (08:00 PST) or 00:00 UTC (16:00 PST) instead to get wider input. A very major stakeholder is the European editor audience, some of whom may also struggle to make 20:00 UTC (12:00) PST as well. Nothing's decided yet – in part, we'll see how well-attended the first meeting is and adjust based on that. Jdforrester (WMF) (talk) 15:32, 3 February 2015 (UTC)

Thanks, James. Having looked a bit more closely, it seems as though one of the primary purposes of these IRC meetings is on-the-spot bug triage. I'm well aware of how much work the VE team has done to address bugs in the last 18 months; I do suspect that a lot of us have probably lost track of what bugs are and are not resolved at this stage. I've not yet really figured out Phabricator and most of the time I'm really not certain what I'm seeing there (or fully understanding the terminology being used to describe some of the bugs). Perhaps it might be helpful to figure out a way to make that data more accessible so that the various communities can help to identify the bugs that most greatly affect them.
