People should not be allowed to edit. Because there are companies using wiki as a sales platform posting lies about their products, I am a medical student, my professor always discourages us to use wiki because of that reason. Please cancel the editing option it's not okay since any bored person can just write anything. — The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ntsakomacdonald (talk) 20:51, 17 June 2014 (UTC)

Excuse me if my English is approximate, I'm french. I believe that you didn't really understand the fundamental principle of Wikipedia. This encyclopedia is, like its said, a "wiki". Read the definition of a 'wiki' in the dictionary. You have every right to dislike this kind of encyclopedia, but so don't come to say here. Thank you for your understanding --62.39.244.113 15:17, 20 June 2014 (UTC)

expand to whom non-U.S. laws may apply, since they apply to them anyway

The laws of any nation may apply to any national or citizen of that nation regardless of where that individual is located. They may also apply to anyone in that nation, such as tourists. The phrase "applicable laws (which may include the laws where you live or where you view or edit content)" or similar found several times in the Terms of Use is therefore too narrow, and the narrowness does not serve any purpose for the Wikimedia Foundation. So, I suggest expanding the phrase to this: "applicable laws (which may include the laws where you live or are a national or citizen or are present or where you view or edit content)".

Grammar: In U.S. law, a citizen is a national but not all nationals are citizens. Even if that's true worldwide, I don't think we need to say "citizen or other national"; it's okay to say "national or citizen".

All relevant locations in the Terms can probably be found by searching for "applicable".
