CWS
[edit]I know it’s late, but shouldn’t the CWS notice be moved to Changes This Week (or even Recent Changes)? 2023-01-23 18:00 UTC was like 4 hours ago. Al12si (talk) 22:22, 23 January 2023 (UTC)
- @Al12si Arg. Yes. Good catch. I'll move it to Changes This Week, as we don't have translations for Recent Changes.
- (I was just about to send it. But I'll pause for you to work on translations. Please ping me when ready? Thanks!) Quiddity (WMF) (talk) 22:28, 23 January 2023 (UTC)
- @Quiddity (WMF) I’m mostly done but I’d like to figure out a way to translate “timing issue” that’s not misleading. I think I’ve mentioned this but I’m actually not the best person to do Tech News; I learnt all my technical terms in English. Al12si (talk) 22:40, 23 January 2023 (UTC)
- @Quiddity (WMF) I think I’ll call it done. Al12si (talk) 22:44, 23 January 2023 (UTC)
- @Al12si The alternative term I was considering using was "code-conflict issue" - IIUC from the link, the problem was essentially equivalent to an edit-conflict, where the system was trying to do two things at once and they collided. Does that help? (I need lunch, so I'll be paused for ~15 minutes anyway!). Quiddity (WMF) (talk) 22:45, 23 January 2023 (UTC)
- @Quiddity (WMF) I know what it means by reading the ticket; the problem is I don’t know how to say it in Cantonese. (I believe the term is also mistranslated in French, though my French isn’t that great; maybe it’s ok there.) I’ve basically translated it to “things happened in the wrong order”.
