What is product
[edit]Including "product" in the name IMHO makes things more confusing. It seems that another group is recommending to create "new platforms", which can also read "new products". Nemo 19:02, 22 September 2019 (UTC)
@Nemo bis: the naming reflects WMF structure (separate groups working on user-facing software requiring UX, user analytics, product management etc. expertise, and on lower-level software requiring more of a technical experise). That might be somewhat confusing, OTOH maybe it helps to keep in mind that a good software delivery process requires much more than just writing the code.
This working group being about product & technology means that it's thinking is focused on the movement's product and technology aspect (capacity, processes, structures etc). It doesn't preclude other groups from making product or technology recommendations if those products or technologies would be relevant for their own focus area. --Tgr (talk) 16:11, 27 September 2019 (UTC)
