Timeline[edit]

Given that there'd be barely a few days left from the date you announce the working group members (second week of July) and Wikimania (mid-July), did you take into consideration that some participants may require visas to travel to South Africa, and therefore need to start the visa application process at least 2 weeks before Wikimania? Dear Abbasjnr, thank you so much for sharing your concerns. It would have been ideal to have an in-person meeting of all the Working Groups at Wikimania, but as you point out, it is not possible with the current timeline and visa requirements. The Working Groups will mostly work online and also the initial set-up will happen online, so everyone can participate. We are planning an in-person meeting for the Working Groups later in the process when we come to more difficult discussions and decision-making. --KVaidla (WMF) (talk) 15:43, 22 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
