What was "the initial software development team"?[edit]

The statement mentions "the initial software development team, actively engaged since June 2022, on site". What does that mean? Was this team employees of WMDE or WMID? Ainali talkcontributions 18:29, 8 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi @Ainali, the team was initially employed by WMID. They now contribute to the collaboration as freelancers. Maria Lechner (WMDE) (talk) 18:24, 21 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Budget spent so far[edit]

How much of the Budget has been spent so far and how much budget is left. Hogü-456 (talk) 18:21, 1 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

The two currently running projects have been awarded €227.082 (Wikidata Software Collaboration Indonesia) and €199.750 (Wiki Mentor Afrika) of the total grant (€822.800) provided by the Arcadia Fund. As we at WMDE predict an underspending for both projects until the end of the project period (December 2024), we are happy to re-allocate remaining funds via our Call for Software Contributions. This will ensure that the potential underspending will be used to benefit the Wikidata community and beyond. Maria Lechner (WMDE) (talk) 09:52, 3 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Reflection[edit]

@Maria Heuschkel (WMDE), Kim Brune (WMDE), and Maria Lechner (WMDE):

The January 2024 statement on the dissolution of WMID-WMDE partnership contained the following commitments:

Despite the best efforts by all parties involved, the divergence in perspectives and approaches has led to the challenging decision to end our joint efforts prematurely. We aim to assess the history of events and analyze what can be learned from this for future partnerships.

Is there a public version of this assessment yet? Would love to learn more about it. Best, RamzyM (talk) 14:43, 29 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
