Global block for 91.123.144.0/20

[edit]

I found a cross-wiki LTA in 91.123.144.0/20, active in enwiki, ruwiki, ukwiki, ru.wiktionary and so on. For example, the disruptive edits can be seen clearly in ru.wiktionary: [1] A global block is needed, but I'm unsure about its term: this range has never been blocked globally (a 6-month local block is currently active in en.wiktionary), so maybe it should start from 1 month. — 2A00:1370:8186:2EDD:A863:1F0A:6F9D:22C3 22:38, 16 February 2025 (UTC)Reply

globally blocked with exemptions on ruwiki and ukwiki to avoid false positives. local admins on those projects can issue their own blocks if needed. --Johannnes89 (talk) 17:41, 28 February 2025 (UTC)Reply

This user name may violate local policies and lead to local blocks, but there is no need for steward action. --Johannnes89 (talk) 08:36, 28 February 2025 (UTC)Reply

Global lock for spambots/vandals

Lock allGlobal block all:

  • ...

I need to request to lock these accounts because they are sockpuppets of a serial vandal abusing from different wikis. Even though they stopped over years, but please lock these accounts to prevent further vandalism by any chance. Thanks. --2401:4900:1C0B:7573:D81B:8E82:A24A:5812 09:18, 26 February 2025 (UTC) 2401:4900:1C0B:7573:D81B:8E82:A24A:5812 09:18, 26 February 2025 (UTC)Reply

seems to me like normal vandal accounts. there are thousands of accounts with similar names, created by random people to do a nonsense edit and no longer used after being locally blocked. no need for steward action for inactive accounts. Johannnes89 (talk) 09:33, 26 February 2025 (UTC)Reply

@Johannnes89: We still should try locking so that in othr wikis there are no vandalism. Please look at Hdhddhdhdhdhsgddgsgsftsgsg (talk • contribs • block • xwiki-contribs • xwiki-date (alt) • CA • gblock • ST • lwcheckuser) also. 2401:4900:1C0B:7573:A1BD:801E:311B:76FF 11:21, 26 February 2025 (UTC)Reply

If we wanted to lock every local vandal just for the vague possibility that they might turn to xwiki vandalism – and also do that for inactive accounts like the ones you reported – we would drain all available resources from stewards without much benefit, because it's easy to just create new accounts. Please re-report if one of the accounts actually turns to xwiki abuse. Johannnes89 (talk) 11:27, 26 February 2025 (UTC)Reply

Global lock for User:EvilLair

[edit]
Status:    In progress

Reason: Long-term abuse. Per sock puppet investigation, this is the last account in line that needs locking to prevent mass disturbances across the Wikimedia sites. 67.86.36.7 21:00, 28 February 2025 (UTC)Reply

Global block for 71.125.62.146

Long term abuse, recently CU blocked on enwiki likely connected to a glocked user, and has been globally blocked before for LTA. Also was blocked on Simple before. --Quester22 (talk) 15:36, 7 March 2025 (UTC) Quester22 (talk) 15:36, 7 March 2025 (UTC)Reply
