I have to say, even in retrospect (only now I found out! No sufficient warnings were given in Wikinews itself): the link to the discussion in Wikipedia is to the most significant page intended for non-binding and general discussions on topics not necessarily related to the various Wikimedia projects (known as: "the city square" and is also used for discussions about politics /hobbies/news/donations to ventures/anything else not related to the project). Bringing the link is very misleading, as if it is a significant discussion with wide participation in the appropriate place. In my opinion, it was inappropriate to try to rely on this link in the statement that opened the discussion. ‎—^מקףHyphen_෴ 09:19, 6 June 2023 (UTC)
