overarching requirements[edit]

The phrase "The projects are largely self-governed, with respect to content creation and management, as well as community conduct." is not only vague, but it leaves something unaddressed.

I have always found it odd that commercial companies are very careful in guarding their brands (try to image a local entrepreneur filling bottles labeled Coca-Cola with a mixture of his own choosing!), but that the WMF does not take care of its brands. Any 'local community' can start its own Wikipedia without having to follow any requirements, with very few exceptions (for example, with regard living persons).

It seems no more than natural that there should be some requirements that any project calling itself a Wikipedia should follow. There should be a framework with some minimum requirements with regard using this valuable brand. - Brya (talk) 17:32, 22 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
