[edit]Hi Triangle Wikipedians! I will be giving a talk this coming Tuesday at North Carolina State University's "Leadership in Technology" series: Wikipedia - a new era in humanity’s curation of knowledge
I'll be in Raleigh all day Monday and Tuesday. If anyone would like to attend the talk, it's open to the public; and if anyone wants to get lunch or a beer, I'd love to meet local Wikipedians. Apologies for the late notice -- I hope some of you are available! - Hello Pete F, I apologize for not seeing this sooner! I don't check this WikiMedia page enough. I hope the talk went well! Please let me know if there's anything I may be able to help out with at NC State in terms of edit-a-thons. Cheers! Ongmianli (talk) 21:57, 2 February 2016 (UTC)
Couldn't make it
[edit]Pete F, sorry that I couldn't attend your talk this evening. I'm on the other side of the state right now.
It would be great if you could connect me with any contacts you have at NCSU which are interested in Wikipedia. We have not had any edit-a-thons there and I'm looking for someone to help organize this type of event. As you can see on our user group page, we've hosted several edit-a-thons at UNC and Duke over the past three years.
I hope your talk was well received and thank you for any contacts you can share.

- Thanks for the notes, Ongmianli and Frankcjones. The talk went pretty well, I think; there should be video available before long, and I've published my slides here. I'm going to do a blog post, I'll let you know when it's up. And I've asked about professors interested in doing Wikipedia assignments, and will pass along any interest. Sorry I didn't give you guys more warning -- would have been nice to have more Wikipedians there! -Pete F (talk) 22:53, 2 February 2016 (UTC)
