[edit]@The wub and Geni: If I'm available, I'm happy to come for a pint and maybe a walk round Portsmouth with just you two but is it worth rethinking the date? @DeirgeDel, Thryduulf, Joseph232, Hassocks5489, and Ritchie333: in case we end up discussing alternative dates or dates for future meetups. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 09:57, 12 April 2023 (UTC)
- Don't set the schedule on my account, I'll come if I can make it but in the case of a clash with London or Oxford they'll come first. As it stands my April weekends are all fully booked but May is mostly empty so far. Thryduulf (talk: meta · en.wp · wikidata) 16:19, 12 April 2023 (UTC)
- Happy to come to Pompey, but Saturdays would work best for me: I can only really do a Sunday if it's in Brighton. Hassocks5489 (talk) 22:52, 17 April 2023 (UTC)
- Geni I think you may have been at a meetup at Eastleigh a few years ago. Have you any means of pinging those that attended there to alert them to this? I will not be attending myself but favour face-to-face as opposed to computer linking. I like the idea of source book sharing.SovalValtos (talk) 19:26, 19 April 2023 (UTC)

- Happy to Reschedule although not overly optimistic it will work out better.Geni (talk) 19:44, 19 April 2023 (UTC)
- Apologies all, I had missed the discussion here; don't think I got the initial ping for some reason. We're going ahead with this date, even if it's only a small turnout. I'm sure there will be another meetup in Portsmouth at some point, although Brighton also sounds overdue for a gathering! the wub "?!" 15:19, 21 April 2023 (UTC)
- @HJ Mitchell @Geni We're on a table right by the back doors. the wub "?!" 12:56, 23 April 2023 (UTC)

@@HJ Mitchell:: In response to your comment on the talk page about my library and in the link of the outcome of UTRS#70412 / Ticket#2023050110011826 ... I know you have access to the latter you as you are INVOLVED by mention though not any action you know well enough not to take any action on that. I do not jokingly claim I am banned from Portsea (Island) for nothing! Anyway the key point is I have begun my library, in particular the engineering section, you are a civil orientated aren't you, at w:simple:User:DeirgeDel/B2#Engineering set. While I later bemoaned we were at IKB but did not discuss IKB nor the Crueze book I bought with the dude lying on a deleted draft the big thing I found in compiling this list was (K. N. Vignoles, 1982) which I possibly for from Kim's at Chi or Arundel or Chi/Oxfam or Chi/Carboot. I don't think I'd looked at the book since purchase and noted is a thorough rework of (OJ, 1889) easily available from Open Library. KN has local connections but has also detailed some sources which are quite interesting with regards to the D&KR & the atmospheric (IKB involvements!). Any while I dashed round w:en:Dún Laoghaire railway station like a madman taking photos in July 2023 (which I haven't uploaded - & how did I miss Bailey & Pim in the town!) I am excited to note @Smirkybec: had captured Commons:File:Plaque to Charles Blacker Vignoles 01.jpg in October 2022 which I has missed (possibly due to construction work or it being new)! -- DeirgeDel tac 13:12, 8 May 2023 (UTC)
- Only spotting this now! I sit on the National Committee for Commemorative Plaques in Science and Technology (since 2015) so I've been trying to get a hold on the 70+ plaques erected since 1997. That one was erected in 2003, part of Dr Ron Cox's work on getting a set of plaques to important railway engineers up. I think it has been moved around as work was done to the station. I've put most of them up on Open Plaques, with the long term hope of getting them on to Wikidata. Smirkybec (talk) 19:29, 16 May 2023 (UTC)
- @Smirkybec:: You star you! Just found ga:Charlotte Stoker's plaque opposite the Sligo Guards near (54.2694708,-8.4717503) on Gstreetview! No Bergin though! Let alone McDonnell, Maunsell & just maybe maybe Richard Pim. IR CEO has agreed to call him first bi-mode Drumm though. -- DeirgeDel tac 22:16, 17 May 2023 (UTC)
