North East of England Meet up?

Question

Would someone here be able to pick me and drop me off at the ferry terminal for the ferry to the Isle of Man. I have noted that part of this page suggests that alcohol is optional... well it ain't optional for me so I would be a foot passenger. Timing works and I can do this with a bit of assistance... No can do, but James Street station is a mere 5 minute walk from the terminal (I think), and you can quickly whizz up to Lime Street from there. The pub is just over the road from Lime Street. Bazonka (talk) 07:20, 17 July 2012 (UTC)

Sorry, I almost certainly won't be able to go as I can't make the morning ferry due to a commitment I haven't been able to reschedule. I am investigating multi-leg options involving flying somewhere in Britain, taking the train to Liverpool (the flights to Liverpool don't work time wise) then taking the ferry back... if any of those are not overly expensive I may try them. I am considering flying to Blackpool (and taking ferry back.) The times work, I just need to talk myself into spending the money when I'm in the process of moving house! Is anyone else here coming from Blackpool or nearby? Egg Centric (talk) 16:09, 20 July 2012 (UTC)

Can't help with that, but there's a regular train at xx:37 from Blackpool to Lime Street - it takes about 1.5h. (And yeah, a nice day out is just what you need to help with the stress of moving house :-) Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 07:17, 21 July 2012 (UTC)

Alternative venue

In order to help Egg Centric in his quest to reach us, is there an alternative Wetherspoons-style pub not far from the IoM-ferry terminal (Pier Head) that we could go to?
