Closure of Zero Waste Hub

Hey! Not sure the best place to put this, so I'll do it here.

It's extremely likely that Zero Waste Hub (SHRUB Coop) will be closing very soon - see this post [1]. As I'm typing this, I've just seen an email from SHRUB saying they will be closing their physical location.

Not sure where we want to go instead, but the cafe at the National Library may work? Pinging @Discott: as the main organiser. Pretzelles (talk) 17:06, 16 February 2025 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads up! Sorry to hear the bad news, they have been a great location for us. The cafe at the National Library sounds interesting. I will look into it when I get back to Edinburgh in early March. I know pretty much nothing about the Cafe' there so I will need to get a sense of how welcoming they will be to us. I have just chatted with the Zero Waste Hub and they have confirmed to me that they will still be around until at least the end of April. They will keep me informed of thier future, which currently still seems uncertain, but they have assured me that we can still have our meetup in March at their location. As such we will still have our March meetup at the Zero Waste Hub as origionally planned. We can discuss at the meetup alternative locations. I have checked alternative locations and the best fit for us seems to be the Coffee Staints at Grassmarket, the National Library unfortunately can not host us for longer than 1 hour at a time. Long story short, we are still set to meet in March at the Zero Waste Hub, lets discuss alternative locations then and there but Coffee Saints, Grassmarket seems to be the best future option. --Discott (talk) 17:04, 14 March 2025 (UTC)
