Promotion flags for small boats (yacht flags)

[edit]

Hi Elian,

during your rework of the page you deleted my information regarding the yachting flags (small flags), which are available. I suggest that you add at least a link, because such flags are also nice for promotion. Bestand ist "10 Stück" in Berlin, ask me. --Wikinaut 15:07, 10 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Versandkosten in Deutschland würde ca. 15,- € kosten. Daran verdiene ich nichts. --Wikinaut 20:15, 10 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Naming

[edit]

"Promotion" is wrong. The normal usage of that word is where someone (person, sports team) is "promoted" to a better position, etc. As far as I can tell, you are talking about "Promotional" work, where you are promoting the activity of an organisation. In that case the subcom should be called "Promotions" or even "Marketing", but "Promotion" will give very much the wrong impression, indeed at first i thought this was about finding editors and promoting them to admins. I fully understand that this is an "english as non-native language" thing and won't hold it against anyone! --Alison Wheeler 11:24, 1 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Page moved (post a brief IRC discussion with akl). --Alison Wheeler 12:36, 1 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Logo usage

[edit]

is this the place to start asking about logo usage, permissions and so forth? Thanks... Lar 20:59, 20 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

As it turns out I went directly to Danny on the question. What I was seeking permission for was the Wikimedia logo mosaic which has been completed now, and which is pretty cool. It may or may not be a marketing image you want to make use of. ++Lar: t/c 03:40, 27 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

separate marketing subcomm page?

[edit]

There's some more interesting info that could be gathered here from local marketing efforts on individual projects -- does it make sense to have a separate page for the subcommittee? I used to get the impression from this page that public participation was not welcome b/c it led off with the committee description - which I don't think was the intent. -- sj | translate | + 17:59, 2 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
