Austronesian includes East Fijian and Timor-Babar

[edit]

Austronesian includes East Fijian and Timor-Babar, why do you remove them? The preceding unsigned comment was added by Nxx (talk • contribs) .

I didn't. I removed them from the header because they have been incorporated to {{NUMBEROFFAMILY|ARTICLES|map}} (map is the ISO 639-5 code for Austronesian languages) ~ Iketsi 14:09, 15 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
How to see that they are incorporated?--Nxx 00:28, 16 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
The standard does not include them in map: [1]. It just does not mention them.--Nxx 00:32, 16 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the fix. I did not know how this data is formed. Can we fix the other languages as well? For example, make North Caucasian out of North-West Caucasian and North-East Caucasian and create a family for Niger-Kongo (or Niger-Kordofanian as in the standard)?--Nxx 18:02, 16 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Rounding

[edit]

Why are the (total) article counts for the language groups being rounded to 3 digits the nearest thousand here when they are not rounded at List of Wikipedias by language group? (For example, here: "Germanic languages (7,650,000)"; there: "Germanic languages (7,650,106 – 34.8%)".) I suggest this be changed to show the exact count in both places. - dcljr (talk) 02:11, 10 May 2012 (UTC) Clarified rounding method being used. - dcljr (talk) 15:57, 22 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

I've made this change. - dcljr (talk) 15:57, 22 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Altaic

[edit]

Japonic and Korean are generally NOT included in the Altaic family. The majority of experts lists these 2 language families as either "Korean–Japonic" or as "isolated". "Altaicists" are a minority in the academic world. --Lysozym (talk) 06:06, 27 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

concur. why are these still grouped together? Elspeth artemis (talk) 14:30, 2 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Berber languages

[edit]

The berber languages only count Kabyle wikipedia but do not count Tashelhit Wikipedia (number of articles: 6249 (kab) + 1101 (shi) = 7350) . Can someone please fix that ? --AyourAchtouk (talk) 01:49, 4 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
