Activity during video[edit]

[1] reminded me that Coursera and others often have interruptions during videos to ask questions or some other activity from the viewer. Does france-universite-numerique-mooc.fr have this feature and what do you ask from attendees during videos? Nemo 10:39, 7 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi Nemo_bis, france-universite-numerique-mooc.fr, which uses EdX software, doesn't offer this feature. During videos, we only ask people to do on Wikipedia the activity the video shows (if there is one, sometimes it's only theory): attendees have to pause the videos themselves. But each video is quite short (2 to 7 minutes), so most of the time, there is only one activity in the video (with several manipulations to do). You can see videos on Commons (but without other parts of the online course: exercices, warnings...). Best regards, Jules78120 (talk) 17:32, 1 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. How big a contributions do the non-video parts make towards the success of the course, in your opinion? Nemo 14:40, 5 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

User lists[edit]

How do you track/list the usernames of the course participants? Do your user registration links use a campaign URL? Do you use OAuth or something? Nemo 14:40, 5 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Portability and i18n[edit]

Are the scripts and non-video contents of the course published somewhere? Does edX offer some import/export ability for the courses? Do you know how compatible the FUN version of edX is with open-edX? What sort of format do they use to store non-video contents (such as subtitles and exercises) and is there any experience of translation/l10n for such files, e.g. with an online translation platform? Nemo 14:40, 5 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Recruitment[edit]

What sort of advertising did you make for the course? How much did the FUN portal itself contribute to the high level of participation, and what other factors did? Nemo 14:40, 5 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Other resources[edit]

[2] mentions http://essentialsofonlinecoursedesign.com/ , is this book (or some other) useful? Nemo 21:35, 11 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
