table cells

[edit]

Very hands-on pattern with pragmatic advice! Are the empty table cells meant to be completed, Spiritia? Best, --Michael Jahn WMDE (talk) 13:26, 6 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Actually no, if empty means "No" or "Most probably no", but I preferred to leave it blank for two reasons. First, the column "Need to prepare in advance (with statistics, etc.)?" may in general sound not meticulous since every question requires some basic preparation to be answered, and I mostly mean here coming to the interview armed with particular statistics, infographics, quotations, charts, etc. Second, the column "More common for smaller versions of WP?" again does not exclude the relevance of a question to some larger WPs. In a way, I've tried to refrain from categorical "No"-s, that's why I preferred to leave blank. If you can propose a better formulation, please do. And thanks for the positive evaluation. :) Spiritia 21:00, 6 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
Ah, now I get it! Point understood. --Michael Jahn WMDE (talk) 07:22, 7 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

I think the default assumption should be that the journalist is experienced and professional. I'd not tell volunteers to expect the journalist to be stressed out (rather than stress from meeting a source, stress is more likely from general work pressure in a faltering business model).

Are preliminary meetings usual? I suspect you'd be lucky to get any interview, the way journalists are now under pressure to produce lots in little time. Tony (talk) 04:52, 13 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
