"SEO marketers"
[edit]Is this still relevant, seeing that nofollow is now on EN? -- Zanimum 18:44, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
- I've changed it to marketers. With or without nofollow, Wikipedia is still open to abuse from marketers who do it for reasons other than SEO. Angela 19:13, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
- Zanzimum it is relevant, in that this is a message that we need to send out the community. We are obviously having a hard time combating this problem, and the more it gets into the press, the more it will be heard. (Generally in PR You have to continue repeating a message until it sticks) Additionally, it is true. SEO Marketers/spammers/vandals are affecting the quality of articles. (One of the issues we are having is that some marketers are really just not aware posting on Wikipedia is just not acceptable.) -- — The preceding unsigned comment was added by Wikiblue (talk)
- Spammers aren't affecting the articles since they're reverted within seconds or blocked from posting by the Spam blacklist. This isn't the same as POV being added by marketers. Angela 19:32, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
- I was under the impression that we were having problems keeping up all the fixes we had to do because of spammers. (Danny had mentioned thos to me)Wikiblue 19:38, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Oh? I think you could survive in writing about Wikipedia without ever citing the site. -- Zanimum 21:07, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
