This Gadgets needs improvement

It automatically create a short url for every page i visit, i think it should create a short url when user request it. E.g i don't need a short url for every user page i visit or talk page. (There is a gadget which do similar thing: https://w.wiki/Vny (copied from zhwiki). Try clicking সংক্ষিপ্ত ইউআরএল on sidebar. It only create a short url when user request it. With this, you can create a short url for section also (if you need). E.g. go to any page & click any section & then click সংক্ষিপ্ত ইউআরএল on sidebar.) Also Extension:ShortUrl only creates short url for articles. I think this gadget should do the same & for other namespaces, it should create only when user request it.

I just wanted to edit my User:আফতাবুজ্জামান/­common.js & this gadget created a short url for that (https://w.wiki/VoF ). I don't need that. Now imagine with articles. If you enabled it this gadget by default & if you want to edit a section, it will create a short url for that. Now you end up with lots of short url you don't need for same page.

Now i randomly went to this red link news/bilgntgh, now there is short url for that (https://w.wiki/VoW). I don't need that.

Now on search box, i randomly typed জদসবুহফদ & pressd enter, now there is short url for that (https://w.wiki/VoV). I don't need that.

So, I propose:

1. This gadget should create a short url only when user request it. Or
2. This gadget should create automatic short url for articles (& if it exist). For any others, it should create only when user request it. Otherwise we will have tons of short url that we don't need.

Ans:- That should not be. Otherwise, there will be no difference between this script and https://w.wiki/Vny. This UserScript created for Readers. So they can get a Short URL. where there is no deployment of Extension:ShortURL. Also, https://w.wiki/Vny will not work in mobile view. But this will work.

Ans:- I have fixed the bug. It will now only visible when Article exists and it is no Special page.

@Jayprakash12345: Thanks. I noticed another thing. If I try to see any diffs, this gadget creates a short url for that (e.g https://w.wiki/Vpi). Usually we don't share this type of url & on wiki we have Special:Diff (e.g Special:diff/20234396). Can you turn off this also? --আফতাবুজ্জামান (talk) 21:07, 1 July 2020 (UTC)
