There should be Bangladesh instead of India. I am from Bangladesh and I have talked about the nation Bangladeshi. Thank you.--Bellayet 16:54, 6 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Economy

[edit]

I have problems with understanding the sentence "There are economies of information packaging, of knowledge, that you find in languages", esp. the word economy in context. I asked some native English speaking wiktionarians, and a couple of them felt it was related to the set phrase economies of scale, but no one had a clear suggestion on how to interpret the sentence. // habj 20:50, 21 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well, "economies" = methods, systems, ways of organizing something. But I don't know a good Swedish word for it, I tend not to read that type of text in Swedish... :-( Suggestion, nevertheless:
I språken finner man olika system för förmedling av information, av kunskap. Varje språk har sina hemligheter att berätta, etc. Bishzilla 22:13, 21 October 2007 (UTC).Reply
I think it means actual industries, ie trades with which people make a living. Or perhaps it means efficiency? Once again, those people who come up with these drafts have very little considerations on how to make their meanings clear, precise, and portable. It makes good business sense to use this type of buzzwords, but they should have a stripped-down and direct-as-the-Bible version so that we know what the authors actually mean. The third option is that the foundation hire a marketer in every (major) language. In any case, the sentence is badly written. --Hillgentleman 15:30, 23 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
