Banner metrics
[edit]In the "Banners: A Chance to Learn and Give" section, there is the mention of "key metrics of banner donation rate, average gift and, recently, recurring acquisition". It would be great to have access to those three metrics for the banner fundraising medium. 2A01:E0A:1EE:5DE0:DC70:6D0F:6369:9D3D 19:34, 7 December 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for your question. I am giving you an example from one of our campaigns below, as rates are different in different countries and fluctuate over the course of a campaign.
- Example campaign Financial Year 2023/2024 metrics:
- Banner donation rate: 0.14%
- Average gift: $12.50 USD
- Recurring acquisition: 0.01%
- As said, these are for one campaign only but hopefully give you an insight in how our metrics work.

- If you think this example is pretty representative of global banner campaign performance, that's very useful, thanks you very much! 2A01:E0A:1EE:5DE0:2129:D9C0:E3F5:CFEE 17:55, 17 December 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Hello,
Out of curiosity, would it be possible to have an idea of the shares of each source of funding, dividing by All Wikipedias, All Wiktionaries, All Wikisource, Wikimedia Commons, Wikidata and so on, for each of the sixteen Wikimedia projects. As a wiktionarian, I have no idea how much people and average gifts of people that want to support Wiktionary or give through the banner visible on Wiktionary. Thank you for any information you may share! Noé (talk) 13:23, 14 January 2025 (UTC)
- If I'm correct, the banner is not displayed outside Wikipedia. See for example the config of the campaign in Metropolitan France (no banner in France overseas)

- Hello,
- Thank you for your question. We only fundraise on Wikipedia itself and not on any of the sister projects. Best, JBrungs (WMF) (talk) 05:31, 15 January 2025 (UTC)
