The current situation is that what edit you thanked them for is private, but who you thanked is public. I think this is correct as is, because total privacy would make it impossible to deal with things like this. * Pppery * _{it has begun} 21:27, 2 August 2024 (UTC)

Why?

Not opposing this change (yet), just curious as to why this would be necessary? Also, if you want to thank an editor privately you can email them assuming they enabled it. QuickQuokka ^{[⁠talk • contribs]} 08:28, 24 August 2024 (UTC)
