[edit]Hi @ValterVB thanks for sharing this wish. Could you clarify your wish as a problem that you'd like to solve, and why it would help the broader wikimedia software or community if it were solved?

- A lot of projects on itwiki, but I think also other wiki, use lists made with Petscan for maintenance, updates, quality festivals, report etc. Every time an update is needed you have to launch the query manually and then copy/paste the result into the page of interest, if instead there could be a bot running every 24 hours, week or month it would be much simpler and more useful. It should be a fairly simple task just to have a bot run the query with all the parameters and write the result into the target page. The operation from the user's point of view should be the same as that of Wikidata:Template:Wikidata_list. ValterVB (talk) 08:05, 25 July 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @ValterVB this wish was archived as the content was an incomplete sentence. If possible, please edit the content for reconsideration.
- I'd suggest outlining the product implications of why Petscan is important. It is unclear what objective or problem you are trying to solve. Thanks! JWheeler-WMF (talk) 21:47, 26 July 2024 (UTC)

[edit]@JWheeler-WMF Whats mean archived? ValterVB (talk) 08:11, 25 July 2024 (UTC)
- @ValterVB, it means this wish will no longer show up in the list of wishes, it is only visible in the "Archived wishes" section. This means it is getting ignored by WMF and everyone else. To fix that, please expand the wish description to be more clear on what you want to achieve. Just paste your comment above in there I think. Also, maybe your wish could be called "Integrate Petscan like features into Mediawiki", if that is your wish generally. Good luck. Commander Keane (talk) 23:24, 25 October 2024 (UTC)
- @ValterVB I've re-opened this wish, however the Community Tech team will likely not work on making bots more effective. I'd encourage volunteer developers to help for this use case! JWheeler-WMF (talk) 20:13, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
- @JWheeler-WMF Thanks anyway :-) ValterVB (talk) 20:28, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
