Hi @A09thanks for sharing this wish. I'm not quite sure I understand what you're looking for, or why it'd be important. How are you using RecentChanges to review changes to pages you've edited? What would this wish accomplish? JWheeler-WMF (talk) 08:31, 6 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

See, when I perform crosswiki patrolling, I mostly use RecentChanges. Most of the time, the default limits for displaying recent changes are 50 edits and 7 days. In most cases, this is too small timeframe, so I need to change the timeframe to 500 edits and 30 days. We can do this via a button in top right corner (Vector skin). Per current working, we need to click the same button twice to perform an action that could be modified in one go (firstly, user changes from 50 to 500 edits and button/menu closes, and then he needs to reopen button to change the timeframe from 7 days to 30 days). Hence I suggested that the dropdown menu/button stays open when changing both parameters. Hope this is clear enough. Thank you for contacting me. It's pretty clear to me. If you want to change both the number of results and the time period to search, currently you have to:
  • Click "n changes, n days"
  • Choose a number of changes
  • [the popup disappears]
  • [the page reloads]
  • Click "n changes, n days"
  • Choose a time period
  • [the popup disappears]
  • [the page reloads]
This would be a lot better if you had to only:
  • Click "n changes, n days"
  • Choose a number of changes
  • Choose a time period
  • Close the popup by clicking outside it
  • [the popup disappears]
  • [the page reloads]
