[edit]@Theleekycauldron thanks for this wish. Could you add a screenshot of the type of edit notice you're hoping to use? It sounds like the problem you're hoping to address is the quality of edits for newer editors, and the solution could be an edit notice with coaching? Please tell us if we're off-base :) JWheeler-WMF (talk) 15:11, 11 December 2024 (UTC)
- @JWheeler-WMF: Distilling this down a bit, my hope was that the community could have the option to put important editnotices into a pop-up box you would have to click through to be able to edit. That could address the quality of edits (if not overused) by giving new editors important warnings they can't skip. Theleekycauldron (talk) 05:38, 13 December 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks - this makes sense, and is one of many ways we could help coach new editors to make more constructive edits. By any chance, have you seen https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Edit_check? . JWheeler-WMF (talk) 14:49, 13 December 2024 (UTC)
- +1, @JWheeler-WMF – thank you for making the time to create this wish, @Theleekycauldron!
- Building on the question Jack shared above, might you be able to share a link to the edit notice that inspired you to propose this wish?
- Note: I tried looking for a page that would list all edit notices on en.wiki (the project you seem to be most active on) so that I could locate the
ARBPIA
you were referring to. Tho, the page I found (en:Wikipedia:Editnotice) didn't have what I was looking for... - In the meantime, I've updated mw:Edit check to include this wish. PPelberg (WMF) (talk) 23:46, 17 December 2024 (UTC)
