Clarifying question

[edit]

Hey @Vestrian24Bio , I wanted to better understand your wish. Could you update the description with a couple bits of information:

  1. What is the most common use case where having outdated edit counts is a problem for you?
  2. How would showing updated edit counts for a given user help experienced editors?

Thanks

@JWheeler-WMF I added some info now, I am not sure if that's enough or necessary, It's something I had in mind that's all. Anyways, thank you for the consideration. Vestrian24Bio (talk) 16:17, 17 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

People can also enter wrong things into such templates. For example, I think several users of this service level award have not actually achieved its criteria: c:File:Sagacious star.png#globalusage.

However, I think the overall achievements concepts need a general overhaul where only 1. verified things are displayed 2. these can (or are?) be shown for all users (like xtools stats) 3. these achievements are somewhat meaningful and good indicators not e.g. mere edit-counts. See c:Commons:Commons contributions achievements for some ideas. Prototyperspective (talk) 16:14, 14 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
