Oppose

- Agree fully. No committee inside Wikimedia Foundation has appropriate regulation for accepting and handling biometrical verification. Moreover, this could be used as a strategical data for extortion/blackmailing of users in cases of abuse. This wish interferes too much with current alignment of Wikimedia Foundation. If this wish is ever accepted I am resigning all my user rights as I'd feel no longer confident contributing to this platform and I believe I would not be the sole person. - This wish just seems to result from a lack of understanding of Wiki(m/p)edia policies; the user submitting this is not even a regular extended confirmed user on the English Wikipedia. Not a lot of projects have this right (and the relevant protection levels) in the first place, but even "higher" roles on Wikimedia projects (such as administrator – the permission that allows imposing restrictions like ECP on pages) don't require any identification, and those that do for security reasons (CheckUser/oversight) don't require more than a name. I'm not sure what this idea was inspired by since I don't know which internet platforms require biometric information. ~~~~

I'd like to give the proposer the benefit of the doubt re: their understanding of our platform policies. Being an English Wikipedia user is not a requirement to participate, and let's please offer a wish creator the chance to explain their POV without jumping to conclusions about a potential solution.
